Disability Insurance is designed to replace a portion of your income if you become disabled and are unable to earn an income. A disability can result from several causes, including an injury, a serious illness, or a mental health issue. The duration of a disability can be either short-term or long-term. The amount of disability you can apply for is dependent on your current income and is paid as a monthly benefit. With disability insurance you can determine how in-depth of a product you would like by; adding riders, having a shorter waiting period or if you have a long-term disability, would you like the benefit to be paid for 2, 5, 10 years or to age 65.
